DVD problem with MBP

While trying to watch DVD's with my Macbook Pro my computer will have a black screen with a message on top stating "skipping over damaged area". This occurs with all DVD's. Apple has given me a new computer and it occurred again. I brought the computer back and Apple representative do not know how to fix problem. They were going to give me another computer but we tried DVD's and it happened with it. Anyone else having DVD problems?

It sounds like the DVDs are scratched, rather than a computer problem

The DVD is not scratched, brand new. I took it out of my computer and put it in a windows pc and a DVD player with no problems
