DVD+R DL Problems, Need Help!

Okay, I bought the Verbatim DVD+R DL's (the ones on apple's site) and nothing on my mac will recognize it, Disc Utility, iDvd, Toast 7, Toast 8, Finder, nothing! Does anyone know why this might be?

EDIT-
I have a MacBook Pro CoreDuo 2.16 GHz with 2GB RAM and 63GB available storage on my HDD, I'm running OS X 10.5.1
