DVD+R playing issues

Curious if anyone else is having this problem:

Purchased a new iMac a few days ago. Tried to play a DVD+R that was recorded today and my iMac would not play the disc; reads as empty. I then tried it on my old MacBook and it worked with no issues. I am chalking this up to must be this particular disc; any thoughts?
