Hi all,

I often write DVDs from Toast 6.0 on my Powerbook G4, and today I timed how long it took to write a 4.1GB DVD i created and got 17 mins, anyone know any sites where there are benchmarked times for 16x as I'm considering buying a Lacie external, hopefully its 4x quicker.

Cheers

a 4x DVD burner will burn an Optical DVD disc that is formated 4.4GB of data in ~27 minutes.

8x will do the job in ~14 minutes, and a 16x will do the job in ~7 minutes.

Hope that answers your question. :)

And once the fastest DVD burner drives are released at 24x it will burn a DVD in ~2 minutes. :)
