Ripped my first dvds last night using MacTheRipper. One worked and the other ripped but wouldn't play back (played but no sound/picture) due to bad sectors. MTR warned that this might be the case.

So my first attempt only had a 50% success rate. Is it normal to find dvds that won't rip or was this just a bad start?

The disc that failed was Waterworld region 1.

This is a disc I've had for a couple of years so I'm assuming that it is not the copy protection which is breaking it. Sounds as though I may have just been unlucky with this one.
