DVD-ROMs not being recognized anymore?

I have a DVD-ROM of Star Wars Battlefront 2 that I am trying to run on my MacBook under Windows XP in VMware Fusion. Yesterday when I inserted the disc, it was listed in the Finder sidebar. But today when I tried to install it, the disc was not in the Finder sidebar and the installer told me to insert it. Data DVDs and audio CDs and such are being recognized, but the DVD-ROM isn't. What can I do?
