I have a DVD video and I was wondering if I can take out the music and use the dialogue only? The reason is I have a 5 minute video and there is a background music, but I want to shorten it to 3 minutes.

Is it even possible? What software can I use if possible?

The audio is one track most likely. I don't know of any DVD's that play multiple audio tracks at once. I suppose if voice is set to certain speakers and music to others it might be possible but that'd be about it.

Damn, I even called a video production company and they said it's not possible. Why can't it be easy like in the movies where they separate sounds into 5000 tracks in a push of a button? :D

There is some software out there that can separate voice from music in a single track, you may have to do some searching to find it though.
