DVD skipping in VLC?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem when playing a dvd in VLC?
I use VLC to play dvd's to get round the problem of different regions...

Anyone got any suggestions on how to solve this or another way round the whole playing different region dvds...

Am using VLC 0.8.4...
