DVD Studio Pro crashes when trying to open project

Every time I try to open studio pro I get "Dvd Studio Pro quit unexpectedly"...
I have installed a new version and same problem.. I am working on a Mac Pro:

osx 10.6.5
FCP 5.1.4
DVD SP 4.0.3

Looking for help--thanks...

Has it ever worked for you? If the answer is no, my first guess might be compatibility issues between such an old version of DVD SP and Snow Leopard.

never has worked--picked up computer from craigslist-all other programs work.. thanks I'll do upgrade...

Delete the preferences and try again.
