DVD to iTunes, not ripped?

How can you tell if a store bought DVD has a "Digital Version" that can be transfered to iTunes? My copy of Welcome to MacIntosh has it and it was very easy to send to iTunes.

Use HandBrake on absolutely anything. Don't pay more for a "digital copy" when you already own one.

I was under the impression that some DVDs with "digital copies" cost more than the versions without "digital copies".

How do I identify the digital copy on the disc if there is one? The Welcome to MacIntosh DVD has a folder named "digital copy" so it was easy to pop in to iTunes.
