I need a recommendation from some video pros....

I need to watch some high school football dvds. As I watch them, I want to identify specific plays of note and extract them to .MOV format for later use in iMovie. I've successfully used DVDxDV in the past, but this program is freezing up too often since my upgrade to SnowLep.

Any recommendations for another program that will do what I want??

You can use MPEG Streamclip (freeware), but in order for it to work with the DVD's multiplexed MPEG-2 (VOB) files, you'll also need the QuickTime MPEG-2 Component available from Apple ($19.99 USD).

-DH, you rock! I delayed checking this out, as I tried to get DVDxDV to work better with the timing. I even upgraded to their "pro" version, thinking that would fix it. I shouldn't have waited to check out Streamclip.

Your suggestion was excellent and I'm getting exactly what I need. Thanks so much. Now I only wish I hadn't wasted my cash on the DVDxDV upgrade first. Oh, well. Live and learn.....thanks again.
