DVD video format

I am trying to burn a pile of dvds and I am having the following problems.
1. no chapters, I did select and place markers, they have not been recognized?
2. The output format is square. I am editing in imovie at 720X480 and the videos are Square????
I am using imovie then exported to idvd

suggestions
