DVDs burned in 10.5 don't work in 10.6, but they do in Vista

I burned two DVDs for backups in 10.5. Now in 10.6 my MBP will not read them. But my wife's new Vista laptop has no problem with them. Any suggestions on how I can get SL to read my DVDs?
