dvf files are produced on those tiny solid-state Sony voice recorders. Sony has sold millions of these recorders, but the only recording option is dvf format.

Does anyone know of a way to play dvf files on the Mac?

Thanks.

Thank you for the reference. Unfortunately, if you read the small print, the dvf converter only exists on the Windows version of the SWITCH program, not on the Mac version.
Actually, I had the referenced converter program, SWITCH, on my Windows computer before switching to Mac last year. SWITCH works well under Windows for converting dvf to mp3.

Also, the Sony dvf player mentioned in the same reference above only works in Windows.

I am beginning to think that DVF is a Windows-ONLY format with no solution available for the Mac.

I don't have access to a .dvf audio file but would VLC play them?

If not then all I can recommend is use that spare PC you have in the garage and boot her up. Or the virtualization solutions.

I checked it out, and it appears there is no support for dvf there.

Yeah, I can always reboot the old Dell. I have a broad smile on my face, because you are correct; it is in the basement next to the garage. :) My goal has been to completely divorce my work/personal life from MS Windows, but I may fall short.

Thanks again for the tips.

L
