I've got a macbook and I'm trying to hook it up to the TV but haven't been able to as of yet! I have bought the DVI-HDMI cable but I'm not very familiar with computer systems so haven't been able to understand a lot of what I have read etc. on the problem! My Macbook or tv does not seem to respond when the cables are plugged in. I have tried detecting displays but it doesn't register. Can someone please give me some advice that will be understandable to someone who isn't familiar with computer jargon etc! Thanks

plug the hdmi into the tv
try having your mac off and then plugging the dvi into the mac
turn the mac on, wit hthe tv already on video: hdmi
the mac should flash a blue screen and then show up on the tv

if it doesnt work try messing around with displays, if not maybe your hdmi port is broken on your tv like mine was.
