Hi

Im trying to send video (no sound) from my MacBook Pro DVI output
to a old analog video mixer with RCA inputs. I have brought what I think
is the right adaptor:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-DVI...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1212760759&sr=8-2

but I cant seem to get a signal. Does my computer need to recognise something is attached to it before it can go in to mirror display mode and send a signal? When I press the detect display button the monitor connected to the mixer flickers briefly. My computer works fine with a standard projector, so I dont think there are any problems with software or my computer.

Thanks for any help in advance,

Tom.

Unfortunately, you have purchased the wrong adapter. It wont work with the MacBook Pro. You need the Apple DVI to S-Video/Composite adapter located in the link below.

Thanks for the help. So whats the adaptor for then?
Can I use it for a input?
Thanks again.
