DVI to VGA or DVI to HDMI?

My new display has VGA and HDMI inputs. My MBP has DVI, so does it make a big difference between VGA setup and HDMI setup? Which setup should I go with?

VGA is an analogue video standard. If you use that, then the digital video out of your MBP will have to be converted to analogue and then back to digital again, which will obviously degrade the picture quality.

If you use the HDMI input, then the video stays digital all the way with no conversion involved.
