DW and PS acting weird on MAC

has anyone come across the upload status box turning into a 1 line pixel? everytime I interact with the server there is no longer a status bar telling me whats going on... it just displays a messed up 1 pixel wide line. Not sure how to reset this.

Also, PS goes back and forth between showing the brush preview circle and not showing it. It is not my caps key and has nothing to do with the preferences panel settings. Some files show it and others dont... I dont get it...

Can someone please help? I am running SL, could this be the issue

Running an unfinished OS is never guaranteed but I've never used it so I can't comment.

I would try running a permission repair since more than 1 app is acting up.
