iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic island is a great new feature

I see a lot of chatter of dynamic island being a gimmick. A lot of YouTube reviews and people in general seem to like it and many others seem not to like it at all.

IMO, it is very useful and an AMAZING new feature.

1) it basically tells you what your iPhone is doing. It is like a “status update”

2) It gives you quick access to the process that is actively going on. It’s an EXTREMELY smart way of multi tasking imo. You feel like you’re in 2 apps at the same time, with instant access. It’s hard to explain, but using it is a joy

3) this will get thumbs down, but after using dynamic island, it looks so high tech. It’s an amazing function AND animation and implementation. My point is, the notch is done. Once you go dynamic island it’s hard to go back to notch. I hope I never have to

To summarize, my iPhone feels like a new iPhone, with a REAL new feature that I use ALL THE TIME.

This is not just a “better camera, faster processor, new color” year IMO.

Dynamic island really is a new feature and I use it literally all the time. It is super convenient for me and I love it.

I agree for the most part and I am still adjusting to the Dynamic Island. It is an interesting idea and as I grow used to it I do like it. I still waiting to see what else it will do. I really like to see something about emails and text messages in it when I receive one instead of the annoying beep when I receive a email or text message.

I believe that all mainline iPhones from 2023 are going to have DI. Apple haven’t spent all that time and resources just to keep the notch on regular iPhones.

I’ve never seen it in person but I think it looks cool. My only worry is that it may be too distracting on regular sized phones as it appears to take up a good chunk of screen real estate.

Yeah it's noticeable but to me personally it's such a minor thing man. It's not even really a thing. I love it haha.

Androids could only dream of creating such an awesome device IMO...

The name annoys me, it's something a child would come up with. Ultimately it's just a gimmick to try and distract you from the huge lozenge-shaped hole in the display

I think some of the animations could go like the Face ID authentication one; it’s slow and unnecessary. I think the face animation could be done within the pill rather than it having to blow up then back down.

All of that said I think it’s a neat addition and I see it as a quality of life upgrade. I love being able to see my AirPods battery level without having to go into settings. The animation is slick too… eye candy always gets a nod from me.

I hardly notice DI. I guess I mentally ignore it like it did the notch. Neither bother me.

I never understood all the complaining and the press that the notch gets. It never bothered me in the slightest.

They replaced it with something that moves. Now I notice and now it bothers me. Thanks, Apple.
