hi, I'm playing a 96khz sample rate file .FLAC using VLC media player. im using an external dac via USB (XMOS USB Audio 2.0).

I can manually set the output sample rate in audio midi set up to be the same as the native rate of the audio file and my Dac confirms the sample rate but I was wondering if there is a way of getting the samplerate set dynamically ie just preserving the original rate by looking the original file encoding. Would be nice if there was an Auto option.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

There are apps that handle this, but they tend to be tied to a specific player software or be exorbitantly expensive.

Check out BitPerfect, as an example.
