Hi Guys,
Is there a way to set something up that will either make a noise or flash an image whenever I get an e-mail? Specifically Hotmail and Google e-mails.
There seem to be several good ones for use with "That other PC" but I can't find any for Mac users except, after searching through old threads, some questions about e-mail notification on an iPhone.

For Gmail, they have an app (I think called Gmail Notifier) which can be set to check email at certain intervals and will display the email briefly when you get one.

Mail.appetizer is an app that will display any emails received by Apple's Mail program, similarly to Gmail Notifier. Also, you can make any sound play that you want using Mail. In Preferences, go to General and choose a New Mail Sound. At the bottom, you can add any sound files that appear in your User/Library/Sounds folder- so for example, the final countdown blasts when I get emails. Wonderful.
