E-Mail Problems

Running a new iMac with OSX 10.8.2. When using MAC Mail, it keeps randomly asking for the e-mail password. Somedays it does it, other days it doesn't. Today it asked for the password for the outgoing server and it shows that server as offline. I have upgraded the yahoo account to the premium and that still didn't fix the issue. We also have a COX account and it is saying the same thing today asking for the password for the outgoing server.

Any thoughts or recommendations?
