Lately I have received quite a few e-mails with various attachments that seem to require something other than quicktime to open. In most cases i get a message that says "Quicktime unable to read format" or words to that effect. Just wondering what other downloads there are out there that enable you to read more of the different formats.

what are the file formats that you are trying to open?

Quicktime is, by the sounds of it the default application on your mac when it cannot open the file in any other format.

Not sure

Not exactly sure what the formats are per se, most just say wmv I believe and again the warning that they are in a format that either is not recognized by Quicktime or warning that they may not be safe to open. Obviously I do not want to open unsafe files, but the bulk of these are sent by people I e-mail regularly.

Thank you

The link provided did the trick and I appreciate the help.
