iPod touch E Mail

I have connected my E-Mail correctly on my iTouch with Apple's guide. Although everythime I try to use my E-Mail and load 25 messages I get this error "The user name or password for "my E-Mial" is incorrect" Which its not or, "cannot connect to host." It is never able to load the messages.
