E-sata Port Questions

Im sorry this might be the wrong place to ask about E-sata ports, not sure if they are on Macs or not but this is my favourite source of tech knowledge.

My laptop has an E-sata port on it, and I'm thinking about getting a 1TB External E-sata harddrive for the higher transfer speeds.

Can E-sata power a 1TB drive? Does it put out more power than USB 2.0?

Ive tried Googling it but to no avail.
