Ear speaker not working

Has anyone had their ear speaker stop working? I've read that that's happened to some people after a software update so I don't know if it's that or because a drop of butter landed on the hole a few weeks ago.

Mine is also not working.. I will backup and restore to see if that works

Have you cleaned it out yet. Did u have a lot of junk accumulate in the ear speaker?

I'm looking at the ear speaker now. It looks clean. I don't see any buildup in it. Even if there was something like lint in it, I don't think it would totally block the sound.

Current software is 7.1.1.

Most likely cause of the butter it shorted or corroded the speaker.
It has nothing to do with software.
