I need some new earbuds. I like the looks of the etymotic hf5 but every review says it has no bass. What's a good set of buds for $200 or so or less with good balance in sound and good clarity? I want something low profile and comfortable.

Unfortunately the smaller ones tend to not be as high of quality. Shure SE 215 or SE 315's are high quality headphones often used as monitoring headphones for musicians. They stay in your ears well (if you use the right size earpiece, 3 sets of memory foam and 3 rubber ones are included), cancel ambient noise well, and have a very clear sound. Bass is accurate, but accurate is often defined as "weak" nowadays. They are also built to take a beating, and should last you a very long time.
