EarFun are a new brand to me but I have been pleasantly surprised. The headphones are accompanied by a protective hard carry case, 3.5mm audio cable, Micro USB charge cable and a user guide. The headphones themselves are of the over ear variety and very similar to the Beats Studio range in function and design. These don’t look to copy the Studio headphones but I will use them as a form of comparison. The housings are fashioned predominately from plastic but do feel quite solidly built. These are connected to your audio source of choice by a standard, 3.5mm audio cable or Bluetooth. The included, good quality travel case measures in at 18x14x8cm.

They are similar to the Studio in the sense they are over ear headphones that can fold up and fit in an included protective case. The similarities do stop there though as the Studio for me do feel better built and have better overall sound quality but you need to remember the Studio are currently more than 8 times the price! If you want a similar style of headphones at a much lower price then the EarFun are definitely worth a look!

They have a tight, well defined bass and highs that pop when needed. The middle of the audio range is well represented and blend in nicely with the rest of the audio range. Depending on the track, vocals can really stand out but may not sound warm enough for some people's tastes. In comparison with the Studio, they lack a little bit of bass and don’t sound quite as well rounded - they have a bit of a flatter sound profile. For some though, this will be fine as the Beats can often come across as a bit bass heavy.

After using the Wave for a few days, I can see them easily being a single pair of do it all headphones for pretty much all types of music as well as movies and gaming. Officially, they are not recommended by EarFun for movies and gaming due to potential audio lag, as is the case with most Bluetooth headphones, but in my testing with iOS devices, this was large imperceptible. I have read that iOS devices are good at compensating for possible audio lag over Bluetooth however. If you are affected, you still have the option of using the audio cable instead but regardless, this is a non issue for listening to music.

I have to say, these are very comfortable to wear with good padding on the headband and ear pieces. They are relatively light at 265g and I encountered no issues in using for an hour or two at a time. The ear cups articulate to help find a comfortable position. Due to their size though, I would not recommend these for active use such as running.

The headphones are rated for up to 40 hours of use over Bluetooth and charge fully in a couple of hours. They also feature a built in microphone for handling phone calls and digital assistants which worked well in my testing; in calls I could be heard fine by the other user when I was in a relatively quiet environment. Controls on the right ear piece allows for play/pause and skipping of audio along with volume adjustment. The buttons also allow for handling phone calls and power and pairing. A tiny led on the left ear piece gives an indication of power and charging.

In summary, I find these headphones good value for the quality and package you are getting and definitely recommended for those not into critical audio listening or baulk at the asking price for the likes of Beats Studio.

Disclaimer. I received these directly from EarFun at no cost but I give my honest account of the earphones. I'm not obliged to post a review here but choose to do so in the hope this can give the reader an informed opinion - I only post reviews of products I enjoy using. I'm also not an audiophile, just someone who enjoys listening to music and likes to share his thoughts.
