Hey guys,

I have a mac mini server running the plex server app and doing the decoding on the fly. What I am wondering is I have the opportunity to buy an early 06 macbook pro 15" 1.83 Core Duo w/ 2 gigs of ram.

I would just like to use it as a front end plex client, don't need it to decode just need it to run the app because I don't like the constrained configuration on my jailbroken AppleTV 2. Would rather have the full functionality and flexibility of running it on a computer.

The macbook will be connected via DVI to HDMI and audio out to my LCD TV.

Any thoughts???

Cheers

Expect hiccups and VERY hot temperature on that mac...

I finally had it and started using XBMC. The PowerBook G4 acts a SMB server (doesn't use any CPU at all for that) and all is great! Any specific reason you need to use PLEX?
