Recently my Mac Pro's performance degraded significantly and I found that Diagnostics was only recognizing 2 of the 10 Gb of DDR2. The RAM had already been installed when I purchased it 5 months ago and it has been running flawlessly since.

Specs:
'08 Mac Pro 8-core 2.8
Riser 1: 2x1 Gb Hynix PC2 6400
Riser 2: 2x4 Gb Mushkin PC2 6400

Diagnostics showed 2Gb and a Riser error. The red led indicator was on the Mushkin Riser. Naturally, I swapped the risers, but the status light stuck with the Mushkins. Next I removed the 2Gb of Hynix and separated the Mushkin's. Now, with a single 4 Gb Mushkin on each riser it booted without errors and gives me a total of 8 Gb. *Sigh.. I'm tired and nearing defeat, but I thought I would call on you guys as a lifeline in hopes that you have a greater understanding of my issue.
