Hello,

Quick question going out to people with early 08 MBP:

how many of you have bought and have experienced graphical issues due to the 8600GT card? (Also please post when you purchased the notebook)

Bought it:
Issue(s):
Solution/resolution:

I got my MacBook Pro in March 08 and I have not experienced any issues with it whatsoever. And I also owned the MacBook Pro before that which also had that graphics card, I had no issues with that graphics card either.

Does it matter so much ?

If this is the machine you believe is for you then just go and buy it.
It has warranty, and Apple's support is excellent + they know there might be an issue so they will fix it promptly.

I used an 8600GT based Macbook Pro Classic (damn you all for making the Glassbook Pro sound like New Coke!) for almost a year without any problems. I would say I put the GPU through a lot during that time running several games on it via Linux for many many hours.

I would only say that the standard advice applies: If you buy a Mac then you buy AppleCare.
