Hi I have an early 2007 iMac that I'm not able to update to Yosemite. The iMac works pretty good for my needs. I mostly use my iPhone or iPad unless I need to do tasks that require a desk top.

The problem is since I'm not able to upgrade my iMac I'm not able to take the full advantage of the Apple ecosystem which I want too. Unless I'm missing something.

Any suggestions on how I can make the best out of the Apple ecosystem work in my situation?

Thanks!

If it is a "white" iMac, I believe it can only go as far as 10.7.

There are hacks to get the older machines to boot with newer versions of the OS, but I've never tried them on my own white Intel iMac. My guess is that they would run, but very slowly.

The best way to "update" a 2007 iMac is to get a new one.
Or at least, a "newer" one...
