Early 2008 iMac RAM Upgrade

Yesterday, I upgraded the RAM in my late 2009 white MacBook from 2 GB to 4 GB. I also have an early 2008 iMac, which currently has 1 GB of RAM installed. Would I be able to put the old 2 GB from the MacBook into the iMac?

  (Be aware that some models can use more RAM than Apple shows. Check EveryMac to verify actual usable RAM.)

Check the RAM type to see if it's compatible with both machines.

I have the 2.8ghz 24" 2008 iMac currently running 4gb ram perfectly fine, so it will be fine to have 2gb in your mac

Add 6GB runs smooth no problems and yes you can use your memory from MacBook Pro.
