I have an Early 2008 iMac and am wondering if anyone could provide any insight/advice regarding whether its worth my time increasing the RAM. Currently the computer is slow and I see the spinning pinwheel frequently ... will upgrading the RAM to 6GB make much of a difference?

The primary use of this computer:
  • Save pictures (photo library)
  • Browse the internet/email
  • Stream Netflix in the office
  • Backup iPad/iPhone
Appreciate any input!

I recommend you look at the hard drive first. An SSD upgrade is the best thing you can do to speed up an old Mac, especially one running Yosemite on the original HDD, which could certainly cause a lot of beachballs and slowdown.
