early 2008 LED 1080p panel for macbook pro?

i remember there being a thread on the interwebs (searching with google no longer brings me there) about people swapping out the panels in their pre-unibody macbook pros with 1650x1050 and 1920x1080 panels. i remember them being at a standstill about the early 2008 panels, as they couldnt find any with LED backlighting. i was wondering if they ever made progress? my panel is starting to go out, and i just got my replacement mainboard from the nvidia recall issue. looking to stretch out this laptop as long as i can.
 
Since allMacBook Pros use a 16:10 aspect ratio and corresponding displays, there will be no 16:9 displays fitting the dimension of one MacBook Pro.
