Hey guys, I'm hoping you can offer me some advice. I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on my early 2008 2.4 GHz 15'' macbook pro (last one before unibodies) from (2x1Gb) to (2x2Gb). I tried my local apple reseller and thought he was charging too much ($210) so I went onto newegg and found this pair of sticks that seem to be well reviewed
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231154
Now I looked on Apples replacing RAM page and all the specifications fit except one:
Double Data Rate Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (DDR SO-DIMM) format
30mm (1.18 inch)
200-pin
PC2-5300 DDR2 667 MHz Type RAM
The newegg site says this ram is DDR2 SO-DIMM while Apple asks for DDR SO-DIMM. Is this even a difference? The sticks are PC2-5300 DDR2 667 MHz which Apple asks for but then Apple asks for DDR. Sorry I don't know RAM very well and I was hoping you guys could clear this up. I just want to know if this RAM will work in my computer.
Also, if you have any other RAM suggestions I would love to hear them! Thanks a lot!
