Hello. Before I spend the money and send for RAM I am hoping to make sure I am ordering the correct RAM. I am going from 4GB total to 8GB total in hopes Aperture runs smoother. I am questioning this because Ram from the apple store is $200 per 4GB and the RAM I think I want is only $29.99 per 4GB. The RAM I will order ( unless wrong ) is Kingston 4GB DDR 1066MHz 204 pin part # KTA - MB1066/4G PC3 - 8500. ( I have a early model iMac 24" 2.93 GHz )Thank you.

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum RAM:

I just upgraded the memory in my early 2009 24" iMac from 4GB to 8GB by replacing the existing memory with this pair from Corsair. It works brilliantly! Don't worry about making the wrong purchase decision. Apple charges ridiculously for its memory.

About half a year ago I also upgraded my early 2011 Macbook Pro from 4GB to 8GB, also with Corsair memory at the same insanely low price. I never looked back. Fantastic! And both machines perform better with the extra memory.

Good luck!

Pascal.

Thanks

Thanks for the help. Looks like its the correct RAM. I have ordered it and read up on how to change it. Everything looks good so far. Thanks again for the info and help.
