I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro and I noticed that a section of the keyboard is not fully lit. You can see the lights underneath, but they don't shine through the keys which is really irritating. It doesn't prevent normal use, but it does brine my OCD out a little. The keys that aren't lit are the F9, F10, F11, F12, Eject, 9, 0, i, o, p, k, m, l, and all the other keys to the right of the kets listed. I've already tried resetting the SMC with no luck. Seriously, what's wrong?

Burned out LED probably. Any warranty left?

If not, replace the keyboard (which is likely the entire upper case). Probably around $200 if you do it yourself.

Or the cheaper solution, turn off the lights and learn to touch type. You won't need to look at your keyboard ever again! :p
