I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 13.3", i7 processor and OS 10.8.4
The problem started yesterday when I was browsing the Internet with 2 chrome windows and about 10 open tabs within it. All of a sudden my Mac keeps beach balling like there's no tomorrow. I assumed the problem may be with chrome because it was using a lot of RAM so I closed chrome, but the problem still didn't go away. I then closed all apps open and it only became worse. It got to the point where my Mac was unusable. I decided to do a time machine backup and let it run overnight, but it seemed to have got stuck at 19.13GB out of 22GB. I switched off my computer and decided to do a NVRAM/PRAM reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US). When I did that, I got an apple logo with a progress bar underneath it but the computer just switched off by itself. And now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QETGA0lGLps) is happening. I have already booked an appointment with a genius on Tesdsy but wondering if I could do anything right now.
