I'm looking to get a bit more portable and go to the 13" ntb macbook pro.

I'd be downsizing from a 2.7 GHz 16gb ram, early 2013, 15" mbp

I do photoshop, sometimes video editing (less than 10 minute videos), browsing, email, etc.

Is the baseline (8gb ram) sufficient for what I'm looking to do or do I need to shoot for the 16gb version.

Will I experience a drop in performance going to the new 13" with 8gb ram? 16gb?

All responses much appreciated.

Since retina MacBook pros don't have upgradable ram 16GB will obviously be more future proof than 8GB. With that being said I do video editing, some photoshop, and some some gaming such as Starcraft 2. I personally have mid 2013 retina 13" pro with 8GB and it has not being an issue at all. My storage of 256GB flash drive has been an issue. I personally think 8GB of RAM is plenty for what you will use your laptop, I would go with 8GB ram but go for 512GB SSD.
