Hi All,
I like to dabble in FCPX using my GoPro footage. Nothing extraordinary, but never the less, I enjoy it.
I currently run a late 2009 iMac (2.66 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD).
As I travel a lot more now, humping a 27" iMac is not ideal.
I'm looking at a MBP. I've highlight a couple and would like to know what I should be looking out for and if they are capable of processing 1080p (some 2k, not really 4k) footage.
MBP 10,1 - early 2013, 15" i7 2.8 Ghz, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD. (this is my 1st choice right now, I think)
MBP 12,1 - early 2015, 13" i5 2.7 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD.
MBP 8,2 - early 2011, 15" i5 2.0 Ghz, 16GB RAM, 500 HDD.
My preference would be the MBP 10,1 as it seems to have better specs, but the MBP12,1 is newer so in theory would outperform?
I've been using everymac to do comparisons, and it is amazing to see how the 15" MBP outperforms some newer model 13" MBPs.
Clearly, my budget doesn't stretch to a 2018 MBP model, which is why I'm looking for something a few years older.
Any advice is appreciated!
