I have a sneaking suspicion my brand new MBP is not getting the advertised 10 hours of battery playback. I'm totally aware of all the normal power hungry activities that would affect that time, but all I'm really doing is browsing the internet, and watching youtube/vimeo/netflix.

My question is, does anyone have a full proof way to track battery usage? Ideally I'd like an app or method to 'time' my activities while I'm actively using my laptop.

Thanks!!

You need the CoconutBattery app. With it you can measure wattage consumption in real time and display it on your menu bar.
