Hi folks,

Just a quick question. Does anyone have the figures for the exact speed difference between the 512 GB and the 1 TB model for the new 13" mbp's? Are all 512 and 1 TB from the same vendors (I know there was some issue in the past for 128 GB variants).

Thanks.

The 512GB SSD in my 2015 13" rMBP is made by Samsung.

I see. Wasn't it the case in the past that the 1 TB had 4 lanes, so it was way faster? Is that no longer the case. I know (as the poster above shows) that the 512 GB is insanely fast. Just wondering if the 1 TB even beats that.

They all use 4 lanes now....

However sequential read/write speeds are inconsequential in many use cases and anecdatal evidence suggests that they make no real difference in everyday use.
