Can anyone here with an early 2009 MBP with MCP79 controllers, confirm if they are able to get full SATA2 3Gbps speed on an OCZ Agility 4 SSD?

Do I have to mess around with firmwares on these SSDs to get a proper 3Gbps link speed?

Thanks !

Yes and No

I have ocz agility 4 128GB and works at full SATA2 on hard disk bay, but SATA1 on superdrive bay

The benchmarks:
Superdrive bay: 100MB/s | 130MB/s (write | read)
Hard Disk bay: 200MB/s | 250MB/s

Don't have an OCZ drive, but I've got a mid 2009 13" MBP and a Crucial M4, which also uses the same controller(Indilinx is just a re-badged Marvel controller with a custom firmware). I've got 3GB/s link speed in my HDD bay according to the system profiler.

lol wow , old thread !!

Thanks for the confirmation though, I ened up getting a Samsung 830 and it worked fine too on the HDD bay.

I relocated the original Apple TS256 SSD into the Superdrive bay and it's actually running only at 1.5Gbps.
