hey guy, i know there are a lot impatient people just like me. the tracking shows that the macbook will be delivered before 1030 am Wednesday, so it will probably be at the local fedex facility around 6pm i guess?

does anyone know if fedex allow you to pick it up on tuesday, i've read some threads and had some personal experience, fedex seems to hate any early pickups. i once shipped a package to ~20 miles away, and the label was two-day shipping. so fedex just let my package sit in the warehouse for two whole nights before delivery, that was insane..

Every time I've ordered something from Apple, it arrived at the local sorting facility (at the airport) on the morning of delivery.

Same here.
It has seems that the product is always moving and is on a tight schedule.

Yep. With so many packages in the system, this is how a,company like fedex maximizes efficiency. There are very few gaps.

It'll have to be sorted and separated for pickup. Unlikely to happen the day before since it will arrive at the destination sort facility in the middle of the night or the morning of delivery.

I know with my fedex you can call and stop it at the facility and pick it up right when they open at 8am

really, but this one is promised to be delivered before 1030am i doubt that they can make it if it only arrives in the morning

My iMac arrived at LAX around 5-6am if I recall correctly, and was delivered at 10am 30 miles from there, on a weekday (i.e. with LA rush-hour traffic).

It was also overnight shipping from Shanghai, which I wish they did with the MB.

Fedex works around the clock, and as always with an Apple product launch, they bring in extra workers temporarily. I've seen packages in the past that show arrival at a sorting center at 3 or 4 am.

Most of my fedex and ups packages arrive at the local airport in the wee hours of the morning and they make it by 10:30. Pretty standard for expedited shipments.

Fedex employee here:

Call tomorrow/Tuesday and ask for a HOLD AT LOCATION for your package. They will then hold the package at your local station/ramp for you too pick up. Obviously free of charge. Doing this will ensure actual delivery. (in case your not home and courier doesn't want to release at location)

All you would need is your drivers license when you show up the the Fedex location. Enjoy

Plug for FedEx: they have an excellent program that allows you to identify yourself online and then manage delivery of your packages, including holds and pre-signing for deliveries. It works extremely well.

True, but it will be available for pick-up on the day of the scheduled delivery.

Has anybody tried to track the plane coming from China to the US yet?

no luck. i completely have no idea. my last update is around 3am local time. guess we will see in around 12hours.

it doesn't help you anything knowing the info about the flight anyway, so just sit tight and wait until tuesday
