We're just one week out from Amazon Prime Day, and today we're already tracking a big collection of deals from popular brands including Anker and Jackery on Amazon. These deals include portable power stations, which are high-capacity portable batteries that can provide backup power to a wide variety of devices, from laptops to RVs.

For the Anker deals, you'll need to have a Prime membership in order to see some of these discounted prices, while others require an on-page coupon to be clipped before you see the final deal price. In regards to the Jackery discounts, some of these also require an on-page coupon in order to see the deal prices.

Jackery chargers seem to be at discounted prices on so many occasions throughout the year, I have an Explorer 240 which I have been very pleased with but would have been disappointed if I had paid full price.

I've learned the hard way not to buy things listed as "Early Prime Day Deals." I did that earlier this year and got the iPad 10th Generation during the "Early Prime Day Deals" thinking the discounted price was going to remain the same during the actual Prime Days. But, the price dropped even lower during the actual Prime Days and it was such a hassle to get a refund of the difference. Customer Service had me purchase another one with the new discounted price and drop off and return the other one I bought just days earlier.

Am I understanding this product line correctly that the main units are standard Li-ion (NMC perhaps?) but the expansion packs are LFP? Why would they do that?

EDIT: looks like just the 3000 Pro is not LFP, the rest apparently are. Also the generator 4000 kit link(s) don't work, did they remove that product?

Every time one of these deals rolls around (which is strangely frequent) I think I ought to be responsible and buy a battery backup, and every time I take a look at Jackery's product lineup and get annoyed with how difficult they make it.

I won't. I'd rather be without power than try to figure out why the Explorer 1000 is $999 and the Explorer 1000v2 is $799, which is also the same price as the Explorer 800 and the Explorer 800 Pro.

I purchased a Jackery Spark jump starter for my car once. When it arrived it looked like a cross between a childs toy and something you would buy from a cheap market stall.

I deliberately tested it on a car where I left the headlights on long enough that the engine wouldn't crank over properly. On connecting the Jackery it made zero noticeable difference, so I immeditately returned it. Imagine how annoyed you would be if you were in a stranded position where you needed it. I won't touch their stuff ever again.

Anker meanwiole have had to have some recalls recently and I have heard of people struggling with warranty claims as most couriers won't touch them. So for me, the only option is an Anker product from Costco, piece of mind. I am waiting for the Solix C1000 to go on sale.
