So I am selling my iPhone 3gs for 300ish possibly more. I'm planning on getting the iPhone 4 16gb. I signed a new contract last year so it will be am early upgrade. I plan on ordering the phone online and picking up at the AT&T store. I'm just trying to get the prices straight. It will be $400 correct? Will I need any activation fees or anything since I will be upping my contract for another 2 years. Bassically will I need to pay anything
more then the 400 for the phone?

Can you dial *NEW# from your iPhone and post what it says?

Since you signed a brand new contract (didn't upgrade/extend contract from 3G), you should definitely be receiving the $399/499 pricing. I upgraded from the 3G last year, and they are claiming I can't do the same early upgrade to the iPhone 4 this year, which is crap. As of now, I have to pay full retail, but this might change. You should be good though.

As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment and an $18 upgrade fee.

Does that mean the price of 400/500 for 16/32gb + 18?

Nope, that means you qualify for the $199/$299 pricing. If you don't, it mentions an early upgrade at a higher price, and lists the date when you do become eligible for a fully subsidized upgrade.

Thats awesome, but I find that hard to believe, I thought the only people that got early upgrade where peoples who's contracts ended in 2010. Seeing as how mine ends in june 2011, I don't see it happening. Can anyone else back up what you are saying. I really hope its true, I just don't want to get my hopes to high.

It's not if your contract ends in 2010, but rather if you are eligible for an upgrade any time in 2010.

You should be able to log-in to AT&T mywireless to confirm your upgrade eligible date.

It is not contracts ending in 2010 because those people should most likely already be up for an upgrade. It is basically saying that you are eligible in which case you get excited, but you were probably already are.

They are pushing everyone who would have been eligible later on this year to be eligible now.

A lot of factors go into this process, and it honestly seems as if AT&T is picking and choosing.

So you 100% confident that I am eligible for a 32 GB iphone 4 at the price of $299 correct?. That really made my day. Now I don't have to kill my self trying to get $400 for mine on craigslist and I can just trade it in at best buy

There's nothing to confirm. You have the text from ATT. Sign up for a 2 year commitment and give them $18.
