Earphone in = Static for new aluminum macbook

Hello,

When I plug in my Sony earphones into the headphone jack for the Macbook, I can hear some background fuzzy static sound. It's pretty noticeable when switching between songs in iTunes. It silently wiiis.... in the background, but its still pretty annoying. When I plugged in my earphones onto another laptop (Toshiba), I don't hear any static...

Does this mean, I gotta return this macbook to Apple...?
