I've learned that the answer button on the standard headset does 1 click pause, 2 clicks skip, 3 clicks backwards.
However, I've found a few times that it doesn't act as expected.
Sometimes, clicking twice does nothing. On a side note, if you click twice but keep it held the second time, it will fast forward - presume this is standard behaviour - but no amount of double clicking will skip the track.
The only way to skip the track is to click once to pause, click once again to resume, then try the double click again.
Haven't narrowed it down to any specific song, or MP3 vs AAC. Anyone else encountered this?
