Hi all,

I spent the last two days (and counting) trying to download The Sims 3 to two different computers. Failed.

Half of the day yesterday their servers were down, so I would get stuck at random points. However, finally the servers have been fixed and that's how I got to 99% and remained there.

If I enable Safe Mode, I get network error:

The network is having problems

The download server is not responding. Please give it a few moments and try again. If the problem persists, please contact Origin Help.

If I don't, either nothing happens, or Origin crashes. I'm sending reports every time because I'm hoping somebody looks at them.

Already tried:
– reinstall
– reset Origin tool
– hosts file removal
– DNS cache reset (through terminal)
– reboot computer multiple times
– add as firewall exception
– delete download and start again
– purge everything Origin related and start again
– post to EA Support Facebook
– post to EA's The Sims Mac forum
– tear hair out and scream into the void

Origin is fully updated (sadly, as I was going to try the older version but it's not possible, it forces you to update).

When googling I found out that Sims 3 is probably not going to work on my rMBP anyway because THE GPU IS TOO NEW (this is the first time I hear about a game not working because equipment is too new rather than too old, but I don't game much). I'm kinda tempted to buy Sims 4 but I am not going to spend money on something that will never finish downloading.

Help?
